Mom-spiration

SO, we all need a little "mom-spiration" every once in awhile.
"Mom-spiration" can be defined as looking to other mom's for insipiration when we feel discouraged or down. You don't have to be a mom to give or provide this inspiration. I add the mom part because whether you are a mom, want to be a mom, or just love your own mom, there is something about the word mom that says love, comfort and inspiration.

My sister-in-law is an artist. And I discovered she is a blogger. I was highly impressed. I would be a follower but that might reveal my identity. She would realize that I did not win the mother of the year award and that would not be cool. In any case, she wrote a great post about time. And how we need to find time. She points out that sometimes as parents we use our children as an excuse not to do things that are important to us. We all are guilty of this in life. We use any number of people, things, animals or emotions to do this.

Kudos to the post! Sometimes in life we get so caught up in the moment that we forget what drives us, what inspires us, what joys us, what challenges us, what thrills us. We all need to figure out how to find that. For me, it has been and always will be writing. I write all of the time but rarely for pleasure. Do I love scientific writing? Of course I do. It is patterned, it is neat, it is routine, and soemthing about the predictablity of it in an unpredictable world is soothing. But this, writing about life and what I love and what I hope...I love this. And I love reading about this. I love the real stories that people write and tell as a part of their daily lives and how the construction of theese stories makes us all who we are. It is sort of like art in a way.

Well, I should sleep. I am gearing up for a 5 hour sleep stretch--maybe 6 if I am lucky. :) But my Alterra coffee will be there to comfort me in the AM. ;)
