...But wait, you say. YOU don't even watch TV. This is true, very, very true.
During my long break from blogging, I was a bit busy birthing and adjusting to my second daughter, Lucy. :) Life for this grad student mom has changed tremendously. At some point, I may post my birth story for Lucy (and maybe a belated one for Emily).
The past seven weeks with Lucy have been a blur. My recovery was easy (no joke), minus gas, spit up and some angry episodes, Lucy is a really laid back and serious baby. But two kids, holy shit, having two kids MIGHT kill me!! :) I can't even tell you all of the changes and about all of the exhaustion. My toddler tries my patience at times, and I am trying, trying, trying to be more patient with her.
With a second child, you never seem to be able to enjoy them quite the same as the first. The toddler is staying in daycare three days a week, so Lucy and I have those days together--plus our middle of the night nursing dates. We are co-sleeping/at times bed-sharing, which has been nice. You always know children are different, but Lucy amazes me. She is so instinctual. She *got* breastfeeding from day one, she tries to lift her head/roll/coo/move/grab things. When we sleep, she moves close to me and crawls into the "C" shape formed by my body. She is serious (and sometimes stern). She just stares at me when she is awake--and she seems to love the stories we read and songs we sing. I truly am in love with her. Of course, then there are times where days are tough...life with a toddler...LOL. :) She comes along for potty training adventures (trying nursing and getting a toddler and on off a toilet, wiped and cleaned up), she endures tantrums, art projects, the Dinosaur Train, being "shampooped" ad the list goes on. And she is calm---unless she is hungry or gassy.
